Can you believe it’s already December?!? RUWIB had a great past month meeting new people, hearing from talented professionals, and helping our community! If you missed any of our events and are interested in learning more, then read below to get a brief description. 

Speed Mentoring with J&J and L’Oreal 

We started off this month with our unique Speed Mentoring Event with J&J and L’Oreal. This event was so much fun giving us the opportunity to network and connect with 4 different professionals in different fields. They shared insights about their career journey and current roles and then we got to individually network as well. This was such an amazing event and we are so grateful for the professionals who took the time to share :)

GBM 3: Friendsgiving 

Thanksgiving came early for RUWIB! So many people joined us to play a fun Thanksgiving Trivia followed by a fun meal and great company. We had so much food from pasta to cupcakes to tamales and more. It was so fun to spend time and celebrate with the people we are most thankful for, our RUWIB family <3

Cards To Children Event 

Giving back to our local community is extremely important especially during the holiday season. RUWIB came together this month to write lovely and thoughtful cards to children at Wynona’s House Child Advocacy Center. With all the support from RUWIB, we were able to make 60+ cards and we are so grateful to everyone who came out to help.

Ladies Link Up

November means we are one month closer to the new year! What better way to celebrate than to make vision boards and fill the room with support and inspiration from our RUWIB Ladies. We made vision boards filled with inspirational quotes and images that help us envision the dream versions of ourselves. We got to see the creativity and passion from RUWIB and it was such a fun time bonding with new people :)

Soup Kitchen Volunteering

We emphasize how important it is to help your community when you can. RUWIB volunteering at Bezzie Green Community right here in Newark at their soup kitchen and their thrift store. We helped sort different food items and then packed them to distribute to the community. We also organized clothes at their thrift store. We were so glad to be able to help out the community in any way possible! 

Marketing Masterclass with NBCUniversal

Of course we had to end the month off with a bang! We brought NBCUniversal in to talk to us about Marketing at NBCU. We learnt about the marketing at a top entertainment company and it was so interesting to hear more. This was so interesting to hear especially from a Rutgers Alumni herself!

November was a great month for RUWIB but this wouldn’t have been possible without the support from our community. In the month of November, we recognize and acknowledge those that we are thankful for. Thank you to all the members of RUWIB and the support we continue to have. We love our RUWIB family <3
