March 2025 Recap!

Time is flying by….. We are officially in our last full month of the semester!! March was a short month due to spring break but RUWIB still had a great time at different events for everyone. Missed any of it? Take a look at the summary below:

GBM 2: Knotting Friendship Bracelets: RUWIB kick started this month off with our Second GBM where we made new friends & new bracelets! Members came together for a fun, hands-on event to create personalized friendship bracelets while building meaningful relationships. It was a great afternoon filled with creativity and connections. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and we can’t wait to host more events that bring us closer together!

RUWIB HerStory Conference: The STAR of this month was our HerStory Conference, a conference hosted by RUWIB dedicated to celebrating Women’s History Month and honoring amazing Women in the business field. This year’s theme was Creating Space at The Table: Advocating for Diversity & Inclusion. Each panel discussion was filled with an amazing group of talented women who shared their insights, challenges, and experiences with us all. This was an amazing day where we created a space to highlight important conversations on inclusion and brought together so many passionate women leaving us all inspired and empowered. A huge thank you to our wonderful panelists/speakers who shared their stories. Thank you to everyone who attended and made this amazing event possible.

Social Event Pitch Roulette: This unique and engaging event was a great way to ease back into the semester after spring break! We competed to craft the best pitch for random business ideas. Everyone had a great time improving their public speaking skills, engaging in a fun activity, and of course enjoying free food with friends :)

RUWIB Business Simulations: RUWIB had the incredible opportunity to host a business simulation event for an engaging and hands-on experience designed to connect students with industry leaders and real world problem solving experiences.  We were so honored to have professionals from BASF, JP Morgan Chase, and Leverage Companies join us to share their expertise, introduce us to their career opportunities, and provide invaluable insights into their industries. After these informative sessions, participants broke into groups to engage in role playing exercises, tackling real world business challenges and developing strategic solutions-just like professionals in the field!.

Knot Blanket Competition: We did a spin on a traditional community service event by adding some friendly competition! We split into groups and competed to see which group was able to make the most knot blankets in 45 minutes. We got the opportunity to meet new people and work together in a time efficient manner. We made 10+ knot blankets which was so fun. All blankets will be donated to The Covenant House. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make these blankets!

Diaper Drive: This month, we ran a Diaper Drive to donate to the Essex County Family Justice Center. This donation drive was so successful as we raised 350+ diapers & wipes to donate. Thank you so much to everyone for their donations!

Mock Interview Marathon: This was such an exciting event as we brought a professional from Google to teach us all about Interview Tips. She shared her insights, experiences, as well as talked about her role at Google. As we all enter Job searches in the near future, we are sure to be using these great tips and practices as we continue :)
